About This Product
Wild Lapsang is a unique offering from the Wuyi Mountain region of Fujian, China. The tea is harvested from wild-growing trees and bushes on the property of second-generation tea farmer, Cindy Chen. Most of the plants on her property are around 40 years old, while others are younger and have cropped up naturally from seed. Sometimes tea of this nature is called “caicha” or “vegetable tea.”
Smooth, rich and aromatic, Wild Lapsang differs from most Lapsang Souchong teas in that it is unsmoked. The appearance of the leaf is long, wiry and unbroken with a lovely shine. These long black tea leaves look very uniform but are actually harvested from more than one varietal.
Lapsang teas are said to age well.
Available in a 50 gram pack.
