About Ginger Puer:
This is a darker, ‘cooked’ style puer – a genre of teas known for their rich, dark infusion and smooth earthy flavor. To complement these characteristics, we have blended the puer leaf with dried ginger root. In addition to its delicious flavor, ginger root has been used for centuries as a digestive aid and is believed to help settle the stomach.
Yunnan province, found at the southwestern most corner of China, is considered the place of origin for the tea plant and, with more than 200 varietals, is also one of the most diverse tea-growing regions in the world.
Puer tea is named for the town of Puer where teas from the surrounding mountains were brought, pressed into bricks and cakes, and sent out across the continent. Puer teas traveled as far as Tibet, Japan, and Europe.
