About Special Grade Matcha:
Special Grade Matcha is a premium quality powdered green tea from Kakegawa, Shizuoka. Using shade-grown leaves that are high in essential oils, this batch has a particularly rich and fresh aroma. Unlike other mechanically-processed teas, Special Grade Matcha is made with a stone grinder – an old method known for producing a smooth and creamy texture. For Special Grade Matcha, the teamakers have selected the most vivid green tencha leaves (tencha refers to de-stemmed, de-veined matcha leaves before they are ground into powder) to create extra vibrancy in the brew.

Available in a sealed 1 oz tin.
Smooth and sweet without bitterness. Vibrant green color.
Powdered tea is prepared by whisking the tea powder with hot water until it has dissolved and become frothy. Use 3 scoops of Matcha with 8 ounces of filtered water at 160°F. With a fast, sideways motion, use a Chasen or whisk until tea is well blended.
