About Special Grade Matcha:
Special Grade Matcha is a flavorful, high quality matcha from Kakegawa, Shizuoka, Japan. Special Grade Matcha uses shade-grown tea leaves that are high in essential oils and therefore have a particularly rich and fresh aroma. A stone grinder is used to make matcha from these vivid green tencha leaves (tencha refers to de-stemmed, de-veined matcha leaves before they are ground into powder). The stone grinding method results in excellent quality matcha that is smooth with a creamy texture.
