About Nepali Black:

A robust black tea from the family-run tea garden of Jun Chiyabari, our Nepali Black shows off the excellent flavor and craftsmanship presently coming out of Nepal. Some have considered Nepali teas to be a well kept secret of the industry, as the country’s tea estates and plants tend to be newer than the more established gardens of neighboring Darjeeling, India.

Darjeeling was indeed a large part of what inspired the two founders of Jun Chiyabari, who attended school there as children. Years later, they found that they longed for the experience of living among the tea fields, so they established their own garden in 2000 in the Dhankuta District of Eastern Nepal. Jun Chiyabari is committed to sustainability, both environmentally and socially. The garden has an altitude of 1650-2100 feet and is nestled in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas.
