African Red Teas
Rooibos (pronounced 'Roy-Boss�) is Afrikaans for 'red bush'. It has the scientific name Aspalathus linearis and is a member of the legume family of plants. It is often referred to as �Red Tea� or �Red Bush Tea�.
Rooibos gains its deep red color and rich flavor from an oxidation process similar to Black Tea production. For this reason, it is often used as a caffeine-free black tea substitute and can be enjoyed with milk.
It is renowned for being rich in antioxidants and many studies have been conducted on its health benefits and potential immune boosting properties.
