Origin: Ningde, Fujian

Plucking Season: Harvested from young tips in early spring.

Introduction: Yu Ya (Jade sprouts) is made entirely with the newly sprouted tips. From the Ningde, Fujian region of China, it is fine representative of ‘needle’ tea wherein the leaves are pointed and thin.

Flavor Profile: Sweet, light, very buttery. Melon like aroma with a smooth, full-bodied texture. Low in caffeine.

Young leaf, green teas are known for their full-body, delicate flavor and rounded smoothness. To attain this balance, we recommend using slightly cooler water. If the water is too hot, the leaf will "stew", creating a bitter, "spinachy" cup.
