Plucking Season: First flush, early summer.

Introduction: The highest elevation tea garden in Darjeeling, India and the first to go organic, fair trade in the region. This batch was made exclusively for us using only the top buds and newly sprouted leaves.

Flavor Profile: Light body, buttery, fruity. Flavor has several layers and complexity. As it is void of any astringency, it makes a fine uplifting brew. This is one of our favorite Darjeeling teas this summer.

In general, Darjeeling teas are lighter and more delicate than other Indian black teas. Therefore, we recommend using mineral or spring water 180 to 190 F in temperature. The lower temperature water allows for a full bodied brew with a balanced sweetness and astringency. Because of its smaller leaf and astringent qualities, it is also best to use a shorter steeping time than with other Indian Black teas. Three to four minutes is usually sufficient.
